Science Behind
Uses micro medical needles that puncture the skin. This creates a controlled injury (beneficial inflammatory reaction) and also creates channels to deliver actives like HA, PDRN, peptides and PRP matrix , with the intention to stimulate the skin’s natural healing process, resulting in the production of new collagen and elastin fibres as well as improved blood supply.
Specially designed actives like PRP-MATRIX , MESO-ESTETIC hair growth peptides ,ANTE-AGE peptides and DR CYJ peptides can be used in these procedures to promote hair growth.

What results can I expect?
The initial healing period for the skin takes approximately 7 days after which it will look and feel noticeably smoother and tighter.
Although most clients may begin to see the results after the first treatment, the full effects of the Dermapen™ Microneedling do not appear until several months later due to the time it takes for our bodies to produce collagen and elastin.
With each additional treatment, the client should see incremental improvement in the overall appearance of the skin.
Is the treatment painful?
•Whether M.PEN™ is painful will depend on the sensitivity of the client’s skin and the penetration depth selected.
• A numbing cream can be applied to minimize or eliminate any discomfort.
• Spot bleeding and some bruising can be expected during treatment.
• Most clients will experience an inflammatory reaction of mild redness and possibly some swelling immediately after the treatment – the same way, you would feel with a mild sunburn. This reaction fades and subsides significantly within hours but can last for up to 2 – 3 days.
The healing process takes slower, the older we get, but below is an indication of what to expect, for the immediate healing process:
• 0 – 24 hours : Redness, tiny red/purple spots caused by bleeding (petechiae), minor swelling
• 1 – 2 days : Mild redness, petechiae, reduced swelling, minor itching, dry / tight sensation
• 2 – 3 days : Less redness, fading of petechiae, dissipated swelling, reduced itching, minor flaking
• 3 – 4 days : Potential slight dryness
• 4 – 7 days : Full recovery with normalized function
What to prepare before treatment?
4 – 6 weeks prior to treatment:
• For optimal anti-aging treatment, we recommend using Lamelle’s Corrective RA (Vit A) in advance.
• For optimal pigmentation treatment, we recommend using Lamelle’s Corrective Brighter Concentrate/Brighter Serum. 2 weeks prior to treatment:
• No Microdermabrasion, Laser, IPL, Intensive Chemical Peels, Dermal injectables and fillers. 1 week prior to treatment:
• No sun burn / tan or self-tanning lotion on treatment area. 3 days prior to treatment:
• Stop use of all active topical skincare products (such as Acids – AHA and BHA, Vit A) • Lamelle clients will stop Corrective RA, Ultra Renewal, Clarity PM Plus, Luminesce Evening Glow. Do not colour hair on the same day as procedure.
What to expect after treatment?
For 12 hours after treatment:
• Don’t wash face or apply any creams or SPF on treatment area.
• Do not apply make-up – may be applied the next day.
• NO sun exposure. Do not use ANY sunscreen.
• Avoid hot baths, showers, sauna, intensive exercising, sweating or any other heat sources e.g. fires and hot stoves – for 2 days
• Avoid swimming in a chlorinated pool – for 2 days.
For 24 hours after treatment:
• Wash face with a soap-free cleanser (AM & PM).
• Apply Lamelle Corrective Hyaluronic Acid -(AM & PM) for 5 days (*essential for healing post treatment)
• Avoid direct sun exposure – apply a chemical free sunscreen every day for 5 days
• (Use SPF at ALL times)
For 4 days after treatment:
• Avoid applying any active topical skincare products (such as Acids and Vit A)
• Lamelle clients will avoid: Corrective RA, Ultra Renewal, Clarity PM Plus, Luminesce Evening Glow
For 2 weeks after treatment:
• No Microdermabrasion, Laser, IPL, Intensive Chemical Peels, Dermal injectables and fillers.
Am I Suited for This Treatment?
Treatments are safe and effective for all skin types. To minimize the potential risk of post inflammatory hyper pigmentation on Skin Types 4 – 6, it’s compulsory at Canvas Aesthetics to use our Pre-treatment cream 14 days prior to treatment. This is precautionary and necessary to calm down the additional production of pigmentation, resulting in Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation.
A complimentary consultation session of approximately 30 minutes, is required upfront where a comprehensive assessment will be done to determine whether you can proceed with treatments.
If you are pregnant or have any bleeding disorders, you may not proceed with the treatment.
